Three Dead, Child Hospitalized in Russia’s Deadly Apartment Fire
The blaze ignited on the third floor of a four-story building on Pionerskaya Street, according to the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Emergency crews eventually contained the fire to an area of approximately 60 square meters, preventing further spread through the structure.
Among the three fatalities was at least one child. A second child sustained injuries in the incident and has since been transferred to hospital for treatment, the ministry said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
