Hezbollah Rocket Attack Wounds Five Israeli Soldiers in Southern Lebanon
The army said one soldier was seriously injured while four others sustained minor wounds after troops came under rocket fire. The injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth also reported the incident, noting that the troops were hit in Bint Jbeil, where Israeli forces have faced ongoing resistance from Hezbollah fighters in recent days.
The Israeli military has reportedly maintained a siege around the town, which is considered one of Hezbollah’s key strongholds in southern Lebanon.
According to reports, the broader escalation has left more than 2,000 people dead and displaced around 1 million others in Lebanon since March 2, with fighting intensifying following the start of the Iran conflict and Hezbollah’s stated support for Tehran.
