Erdogan, Georgian counterpart discuss investigation of plane crash

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili held a phone conversation on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing investigation into the crash of a Turkish military cargo plane and the latest developments surrounding the incident.

During the call, Erdoğan expressed Ankara’s gratitude to Tbilisi for its cooperation, as reported by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate on the social media platform NSosyal.

President Kavelashvili offered condolences for the loss of Turkish soldiers in the accident.

The crash occurred on Tuesday when a Turkish C-130 military cargo aircraft, traveling from Azerbaijan, went down in Georgia. The plane was carrying 20 people, including the flight crew, according to the Turkish Defense Ministry.
